Prof.Dr.Lional Raj.D is a Regional Medical Director of Dr. Agarwal’s Eye Hospital, Tirunelveli, India. He is one of the leading corneal transplantation surgeons in the world.

He has an experience of being a Chief of Department of Cornea and Ocular Surface diseases from 2006 to 2010 at Aravind Eye Hospitals.

He has been in current position as Regional Medical Director since 2010 in Dr.Agarwal’s Eye Hospitals. He has been a course director for DNB program since 2017. As a Course director, he directs the postgraduate ophthalmology residency program under National Board of Examination, New Delhi.

He is the member secretary in Institutional Review Board of Dr. Agarwal’s Eye Hospital, Tirunelveli. This board is approved by Drug Control General India (DCGI), Government of India.

He has a patent in Implantable Sustained Release Antimicrobial Disc for Corneal Infections and Abscesses.

He was honored with Professorship from National Institute of Health, Zanzibar (Zanzibar Health Research Institute) on 2019

He is an active member in American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract & Refractive Surgeons, EuCornea, European Society of Cataract & Refractive Surgeons, European Society of Ophthalmology, International Society for Refractive Surgeons and Asia Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology in addition to various national forums.

He has completed over a hundred thousand surgeries in his career, has won many International and several National awards in the field of Ophthalmological research.
